Blood Test Supplies

The NHS has been advised of a global shortage of some equipment used for taking blood tests.

This shortage of bottles for blood tests has an impact throughout the country.  The situation is improving however there is some supply issues and we are still following  national guidance and can only perform the most urgent and emergency blood tests at this present time.

As a result, it has meant some routine blood tests will be postponed in order to help ensure that we have enough blood bottles available for those in most urgent need.

I understand that this may well cause you some anxiety and uncertainty, and we are sorry for that, but decisions are being based on clinical priorities and need.

Given the nature of the shortage, we cannot give an exact date for when the test will be rescheduled, but please be assured that if your condition or symptoms require it, then you will get a test, and we will be doing everything we can to re-book your test when supplies become more easily available.

Thank you for your patience and bearing with us.

Shrivenham Diabetes Support Group

All being well, Diab-tribe meetings are set to resume!

Informal but informative meetings offering support for diabetics and families, wide range of topics discussed, guest speakers, ask questions- someone usually has an answer.

We are set to meet on Monday 27th September between 10-12 at The Methodist Church, Shrivenham SN6 8AA  for a coffee morning. We will 'spread out' but I'm sure there will be lots of chat to catch up on.

For further information, contact David Jenkins dd.jenkins@btinternet.com  01793 782435  or Annie, Practice Nurse, Elm Tree Surgery, or just turn up, you'll be made very welcome
